Thursday, 07 January, 2010 (Age: 241 days)
Cogent Systems has announced that it has been awarded a contract to replace the Automated Finger Imaging System (AFIS) for the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA).
Cogent's AFIS will replace the current finger imaging system, and enable the OTDA to continue to verify the identity of Public Benefits recipients through finger image to ensure single enrollment. The system will allow for the centralized sharing and matching of data on a statewide basis. Currently there are over 200 enrollment workstations in operation around the state, and over 1.9 million records that Cogent will convert and integrate into the new system. In addition to the backend OTDA AFIS Data Center, Cogent will provide the front end enrollment application, all the necessary hardware for approximately 200 enrollment workstations, and personnel resources to OTDA throughout the life of the contract.
The contract award is for a period of 5.5 years, with an option to extend the contract for at least one year for a period of up to two years.
