Ingenico in Ghana lottery

Ingenico the leading worldwide provider of payment solutions, announced its selection by the National Lottery Authority (NLA) of Ghana, a leading lottery in Africa, to deliver 10.000 EFT930G wireless terminals and a GPRS connectivity solution.
In cooperation with local partners, Ingenico will have the full responsibility of the field service of the terminals over the Country. The EFT930G wireless terminal is built around Ingenico’s proven expertise to provide assured secure data and application management with the most advanced technology for secure transactions. The terminal is designed for an environment where security and speed are a priority. It is universally EMV and PCIPED approved. Large graphic screen and an intuitive keypad with navigation keys enable a user friendly and convenient transaction process. In addition, the terminal fits snugly into the palm of the hand.
In line with Ingenico’s strategy to provide its customers with complete solutions and services, the GPRS connectivity Management will enable NLA to deliver transaction data from any Ingenico terminals over the telecommunication network in Ghana. Uniquely, the e-Portal will deliver full service visibility – from customizable dashboards to alerts and detailed reporting.
The lottery business in Ghana is aimed at raising revenue for the Nation with the object of providing care and protection for the physically and mentally afflicted, the needy, the aged, orphans and destitute children. In 2009, NLA’s contribtuion to the consolidated fund for National development amounted to GhS 12.7 million (€ 5.8 million), an increase of 19% compared to 2008.
